Animal Abuse... at its Worst!

On a daily basis, people are exposed to various articles on social media. One in particular that I find disturbing is the animal abuse.
Don't get me wrong, I am an animal lover. I just hate to see all the suffering these poor animals endure. The latest one is about a dog that had fire crackers put in its mouth. What the heck!!!
As parents are we failing to teach compassion to our children, or are we just raising a bunch of delinquents. Where has the fellow feeling gone from the next generation, and what are we doing to educate our children. Have we as adults become so self absorbed in the "me first" thinking almost to the point of being detrimental to the future.
So I challenge you to stop children in their tracks when they are unkind to any form of animal. Actually the challenge is for us to show kindness to animals to ensure that we teach our children how to be.
Should you not be an animal lover, then lets teach our children to respect themselves enough not to be a chop about it and hurt animals for fun.
